As I have progressed through my life, the journey has been quite exciting and illuminating. My father, of blessed memory, Alimi Onaolapo Oladimeji, impacted my life so positively than any other person. He showed me true love and ordered my spiritual steps in life. My mother, Abigail Abike Aderemi Onaolapo-Oladimeji, nee Apara, was also a valuable source of inspiration in my life affirming my father’s confidence in me and providing deeply spiritual support to me at every stage. I have enjoyed both worlds of Islam and Christianity. My father, being an Islamic faithful endeavored to impart the knowledge of Islamic faith to me while my mother equally shared the Christian faith with me. Until the passing of my father to the great beyond in 1983, I was a practicing Moslem. After a brief interregnum, I became a born-again Christian in 1992 by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour through the altar call made by Pastor E. A. Adeboye at the Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Lagos, Nigeria.
As I continue to study the Bible every day, more revelations of my God’s wonderful plans kept unfolding. In all my insights from various management textbooks and journals, I have discovered that, for every theory, there is always a passage in the Bible providing a clue. Spirituality, however, goes beyond religion. Experience has shown that people are what they are, character wise, in spite of the religious beliefs they profess. Some of my best friends do not share my religious belief and, on top of that, they have impacted my life in many positive ways through their behaviour toward me and people around them. Personally, I refrain from judging people on the basis of religious belief.
